Air pollution is the release of toxic substances into the environment or atmosphere by their natural forces or man and other organisms to the limit that Cause Damage to the environment or atmosphere. In other words, pollution means anything that Cause discomfort in our surrounding.
The harmful substances that Cause pollution is called POLLUTANTS.
1. Carbon monoxide : Carbon monoxide is very dangerous to human health and living organism as well, It result as the burning of fuels in cars, other combustion engines, and some industrial processes.

2. Sulphur dioxide :is an oxide of sulphur present in volcanic gases and in the water of some certain sulphur springs,It is acidic in nature that turns moist blue litmus paper red. It result as from burning of vehicle's exhaust, coal mining and cement factory and It has severe Effects on health such as impairment of health such as irritation of eyes, lungs and cough.
3. Dust particles: Dust particles Normally occurs during the harmattan seasons and It result also from mining, quarries machines and industrial processes

>>It irritates respiratory system and causes respiratory disease such as catarrh
>>It reduce visibility
4. Smoke and soot : burning of substances from industries, machines and coal into the atmosphere which causes damage lungs and Cause discomfort, It blackens the paint of wall and buildings.
5. Nitrogen oxides : electrical discharge in the air and industrial processes which forms nitric acid with water in air to acid rain which deteriorate metallic objects.
